WHO AM I?
Lorna started working in publicity when she was 15 years old. She was the youngest person to head up a publicity department for a major film studio aged 24. She led a team for 12 years in that role. During her time as head of department and as a leader she realised that the most fulfilling part of her role was seeing people achieve their full potential.
With this potential in mind, and a glass ceiling being reached in her current career path, Lorna had a desire to add to her skill-set in a meaningful way, and she embarked on a training programme to be an executive coach. This training gave her the courage to leap from corporate and comfortable to coaching. The training also cemented Lorna’s desire to help those around her realise their path and work out how to get there, professionally, personally and any other way possible.
Her main focus in her coaching work is to encourage people be curious enough to discover their full potential and their authentic self and one that holds true to personal values. Lorna aims to guide clients to effectively manage their mindset and enable them to shine in all they do, or in the area they want to focus on.
Lorna’s mission is to dance in the moment with her clients, to not focus on a master plan but be in the now. She wants you to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to show willing, to have extraordinary trust in themselves. Together she’ll ensure you’re not standing still at any moment and always moving forwards.
Personally Lorna is an adventurer. Her professional career has taken her around the world with every type of personality. It has introduced her to the mountains, and she’s now an avid skier. It’ encouraged her to discover the places she’s traveled to and found communities to be a part of globally – she’s never alone, no matter where she is in the world. Lorna is a runner with six marathons medals hanging proudly in her home. Through training for races she’s learned to try anything once to see what she can experience and learn from it and through having to find coping mechanisms during stressful times Lorna is a keen yogi, currently training to be a Yoga and Meditation teacher which will add to her offering as coach. Lorna has sometimes bailed on a few experiences due to feeling scared, and she’s learned from that too - it’s better to try and learn from failure rather than to think “what if I’d tried”. It’s that mantra that she brings into her coaching environment.
